The Roster · No. i
A voice built in the choir, sharpened on the radio, and proven on the record.

01 · The foundation
Every voice is built somewhere. His was built in the choir.
DERAA is from Owerri Nkworji, in the Nkwerre Local Government Area of Imo State, Nigeria. His musical foundation was laid in the choir of Dominion City, where he grew from a backup vocalist into a commanding lead performer while developing his craft in rap, songwriting and live performance.
The instinct to lead showed early. In his high school years he served as President of HYPE Foundation, a youth initiative where he organised creative programmes, nurtured emerging talent and built communities centred on growth, purpose and self-expression.
02 · The road
Radio taught him the audience. Lagos taught him the business.
Alongside the music, DERAA worked as an on-air personality across several radio stations in Eastern Nigeria. Live radio sharpened the thing that cannot be taught in a booth: the ability to hold an audience, tell a story and mean it.
His move to Lagos opened a wider creative landscape: years of collaboration and hands-on work in music, branding, performance and the business of entertainment, including artist development and music promotion.
The road was not gentle. The loss of his mother to cancer marked him, and the renewed purpose he carried out of that season gave the music its depth. What DERAA records now carries weight because it has been lived.
03 · The record
In 2022 the work spoke for itself.
His 11-track album crossed half a million streams across digital platforms and drew recognition from major music platforms and media outlets. The opening track, Source, resonated deeply with listeners, while UFO Dreams sparked a viral TikTok dance challenge that inspired more than a thousand videos.
Under BMM management, DERAA is building the next chapter with the label's full weight behind him. Beyond music, his creativity runs through fashion, photography, cinematography, performance and artist development. He is a storyteller and a creative force, committed to leaving a lasting mark through music and the arts.
